This program is specifically geared toward children with the
following diagnosis or condition:
ASD's (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) and PDD
Downs Syndrome
Mild Brain Injury
Cerebral Palsy
Global Developmental Delay
Mild Seizure Disorder
ADD and ADHD
Asperger's Disorder

We are pioneers in exercise prescription for special needs children,
particularly
those in the Autistic Spectrum. We first created a test group
in 2002 to observe what
improvements children could make in their physical and
social behaviour.
We observed that each child improved physically in their weaknesses,
followed directions,
learned valuable
gym skills, met age milestones that they were not currently at, and
improved
in social
relations with similar
children.
It is incredible to see the children learn to throw a ball, or do a
chin up, overcome their fear
of heights, jump on the trampoline and learn skills. Some of the
children have advanced to working
on some treadmill, biking and weight training.
We model teaching activity with rules and routine, along with physical training
skills like balance, flexibility and strength. Our true innovation lies in creating
patience and improving concentration with the children. We provide a
cooperative and safe atmosphere with
one to one instruction. The
program is very fun, and at times the children play games together.

Seniors Exercise
Add life to your Years !
Exercise and lifestyle improvements for
Seniors
Throughout our years of experience helping people of all ages
achieve healthier lifestyles
and rehabilitate from
injury we have felt it necessary to initiate a program specifically
designed for seniors. As a senior it is extremely
important to feel mobile and be independent.
For people aged
65plus (no limit) this program addresses
3 key areas of physical and lifestyle improvement:
Falls prevention and reduction
Cardiovascular health and bone maintenance
Enhance your quality of life to
promote longevity
Facts
-
Among seniors in Canada, 85% of falls required hospitalization
-
Bones become brittle as we age and after the age of 40 we begin to
lose 1/3 of pound of muscle per yr.
-
1.4 million Canadians have osteoporosis and 2 million are at risk.
-
The most significant types of injuries causing permanent disability
are falls and motor vehicle accidents
-
Each year 30% of people over the age of 65 have falls.
-
- 40% cause traumatic injuries, - 2/3 of these lead to deaths,
30-50% result in minor soft tissue damage
* A fear of repeated falls often severely
restricts daily travel, shopping, attending normal functions which
results
in social isolation and depression.
Getting Started
